HAM Radio : June 2007

Kenwood did present it's new FM Rig tada : TM D170e but it's much too new and much to expensive (799 Euros) so didn't buy.
I'm once again thinking about a portable/mobile HF rig but FT857D is too expensive for my purse this year. Let's see, well
I added a portable HF antenna to my equipment which i use in garden at home. It's called ZK Offshag and is a 12m GFK mast
with 11 m wire and a 1:9 balun all incl :) this one works fine for 10-80 m (at least with tuner).
Despite this i needed a microphone which does not kill my fingers on HF (my old one is broken). So there is a brandnew
Heil with HC-3 which works pretty well especially in kombination with the PTT foot switch.

Antenna fun : Spring 2007
-
After letting winter behind us I had to learn my Inverted Vee antenna on roof isn't working well (SWR). Now after I have been
on the roof lots of times, it's working better but not perfect which gave me the possibility to work VE in W2. This seems to
be better than before.

Equipment Upgrade : July 2006
-
APRS is great using this TinyTrak 3 Plus ... took me .75 of an hour to build it and something about .5 of an hour to get it
running with IC-W32E (glad to had my experiences from PR :) ). Runs great this APRS stuff. Not the final solution for car, but
for walking ... perfect. I'm thinking about a Kenwood TM-D700E .... 500 Euros the hell. We'll see .....

Getting things running : June 2006
-
Hey getting a tnc7multi running with a IC - W32E is the hell on earth did you know ? Well i got it done. If you got questions
how i did it, don't hesitate to ask (mail). I got it running stable for 1k2 Baud.
-
Ok tnc running, PR running, APRS running with UI-View on Notebook ... not THAT satisfying .... I need something different ....
-
Equipment Upgrade : June 2006
-
Ok HAM Radio 2006 I NEED APRS and PR !! So a tnc7multi and a Garmin eTrex Venture joins the Equipment Family.
-
My HTRX isn't strong enough. I can't open DB0WV walking in our village ... A new Antenna should help : Diamond RH771 ... yes it does.
-
Relaisfest Höchsten : June 2006
-
Learned about APRS and EchoLink. 'Til now only heard about those things now there are facts and details. Tnx DL1GKR & DL2GGE.
Seems there is the need to join agn PR isn't it .... mmmh last did on 11. Let's see.

Equipment Replacement : June 2005
-
No one would think a Duplexer dies, hey it does so i bought a second one on this HAM Radio. More likely would have the money used
for something different....
-
Hey on exhibition (HAM) everyone walked with his HTRX and my PowerPack for IC-W32E is broken. I need a spare. Got one...
-
Equipment Upgrade : June 2004
-
Well like announced before it was time for a HF AT. I decided to buy an Automatic AT from MFJ which works fine, despite it could tune
faster it is a quite cruel thing.
-
Ok it's time to get things bigger. UHF/VHF needs a bigger antenna ... Diamond X50N bought and build 1.70m over roof top. In fact i need
something about 100mW for DB0WV ... that's fun :)
-
Equipment Upgrade : June 2003
-
HAM Radio 2003 I decided a HAM with a class 1 license without HF equipment ... impossible ... so I baught a
Kenwood TS830S TRX which is a CW/SSB TRX 10 - 160m and a Dipole Antenna of 7m which works 10,15,20m
-
This antenna is now attached on the roof of my house in corporate with the λ/4 Deltaoid so I'm able
to work some stations on 2m and some others on HF.
-
Well the lack of time is still present so I didn't work that much stations on HF, but hey It works and when
my children have grown a little, there's going to be more time for the world.
-
Equipment Upgrade : June 2002
- HAM Radio 2002 I baught a 12 ele Yagi Beam for 2m to work some stations on 2m/CW
-
Only problem is ... I've got a Mobile Tower for this one, but I didn't find a way to attach this antenna permanently
on the roof of my home yet.
So due to the lack of enaugh time it's very seldom that I catch up my tower and this antenna to work some stations from some kind of hill ...

Joined AGCW : June 2002
- At HAM Radio 2002 I met those Guys from AGCW and decided to join this Activity Group. It's important to save this mode on the QRG
-

- I discovered the very interesting world of CW. Hey man everyone should use this mode ...
-
Equipment Upgrade : June 2001
- HAM Radio 2001 I baught a ICOM IC251E TRX, 2m All Mode, 0 - 12 Watt
-

-
I became member of DOK P09 (Ravensburg) in Autumn 2000, only problem is... I don't have the time to join the DOK events because Friday evening
where the events happen is mostly a busy evening in Job / Family
-
Equipment upgrade : June 2000
- HAM Radio 2000 I baught a Kenwood TM721E mobile TRX 2m / 73cm, 5 - 55 Watt (4 - 45 Watt)
- For this TRX I also baught a PA0JWX Antenna, which is a dual band antenna (2m / 73cm) and may be attached to a car window
- For my HTRX I baught a λ/2 GP Deltaoid GP Antenna for 2m which can be fixed at a Window board
- Activities increased and most of the Time (always when driving in my car) QRV via DB0WV and sometimes HB9UF/3
-
First time on air : June 1999
- HAM Radio 1999 I baught a ICOM IC32E HTRX 2m / 73cm, 0,5 - 5 Watt
- Sometimes QRV via DB0WV and HB9UF/3
